Job Summary: This position assists the Deputy Superintendent/Chief Financial Officer in coordinating, facilitating, developing and overseeing the district’s finances, budget development, accounting, and internal/external audit functions. Responsibilities include studying, analyzing, testing, and implementing a variety of automated and internal control systems for budget,
accounting, and personnel to include resource-based budget development, long range financial planning, accounting and compliance reporting, position control accounting, and data analysis for collective bargaining.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, or closely related analytical field, and four years of increasingly responsible management information experience. K-12 School District experience strongly preferred.
Allowable Substitution
Additional qualifying experience may substitute for up to two years of the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read, write, speak, calculate, and communicate effectively; skill in analyzing, implementing, and maintaining management information systems; skill in communicating technical management and fiscal information to a variety of users; knowledge of computer reporting systems (Business + preferred); knowledge of internal control systems; skill in
performing a variety of management analyses; skill in performing a variety of cost analyses and calculations; skill in operating business oriented technology personal computer; ability to learn and interpret laws and regulations governing Washington state school budget and personnel systems; ability to construct, implement, and monitor time lines and meet deadlines on projects and reports; skill in oral and written communication; skill and accuracy in arithmetic and mathematical calculations; ability to organize and prioritize work; skill in detecting errors and verifying data; skill in providing technical advice and instruction to non-technical staff; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
